Where are we sailing? Check out this map for a rough view of our proposed cruise track. We will occupy Chilean and international waters.
First we will cruise north toward our intended long-term station, collecting data along the way. Then we will sit at our long term station the star marked ‘3’) for 5-6 days and follow Rick’s drifting toys as they conduct experiments for us. Then we will cruise along a transect due south (line ‘4’) then head east (line ‘5’). We will collect data the entire way. Then we will repeat the long-term station and again deploy Rick’s drifting toys for 5-6 days at a near-shore station (‘6’) before heading to Arica to drop off some scientists and then back to Valparaiso to end the cruise. The entire expedition will last approximately 1 month.
